I currently offer freelance services billed at an hourly rate. I am flexible in my approach and can meet you where you are, transforming your writing weaknesses into strengths.
Coaching: I would review your project at a high level, then offer you advice, direction, and encouragement to help you finish it yourself, along with tips for improving your skills long-term. This can be a one-time effort or a long-term commitment to talk you through tough decisions.
Editing: An in-depth read of existing chapters, followed by suggestions regarding everything from structure, theme, plot and character development (if a narrative), content, flow, pacing, voice, style, and language, depending on what you want and what the project needs. This can include suggestions on how to finish it. I can do developmental and copy editing. I am not currently available for proofreading.
Ghostwriting: I handle the whole project, whatever is needed. I can complete a project you have started, or start from scratch, first by conducting interviews to understand your subject matter and goals. For example, if it's a memoir, we would talk about your life story. I would review what you have already written, then edit or revise what you've done and write what is left to do. This includes all structural and narrative planning, organizing the background material (interviews, sources you offer, and any required research); writing the prose itself; and complete any rounds of editing or refining you'd like after the first draft is completed. I can also interview other people, track down citations, offer advice for publishing, or anything else within my skillset that you'd like me to do.
Misc: Research, consulting, beta reading, sensitivity reading, authenticity reading, book proposals.
